Jacques Doucet’s private mansion: Georges Hoentschel decorated the interior of Jacques Doucet’s private mansion, 19, Rue Spontini in Paris, which provided the showcase for the famous couturier and collector’s 18th century collections.  In the same way that Jacques Doucet sold his Jacques Doucet sold his collection in favour of items that were Modernist, African and Far Eastern for his Neuilly residence, so too Georges Hoentschel started to collect Impressionism and Far Eastern art following the death of his wife.
